Kids & Technology

Here's another reason to stay on-top of the technology your kids are using...especially when it's linked to your credit card. First it was text messaging, then mobile phone game purchases, then online in-game purchases (e.g. FarmVille), now it's mobile device in-game purchases. I'm sure there will be some new idea to make money that will result in a naive kid spending hundreds of dollars of their parents money.

This 8-year-old managed to rack up $1,800 in real money buying fake (electronic) items. $5 for 50 smurfberries? A simple parental block on In-App purchases would have stopped this.
